"What is this life if, full of care,

We have no time to stand and stare".

                              -William Henry Davies

Why Art
I was not born an artist.  It came late in life. Seven years after I retired, I playfully signed up for several art courses at our local community college. I happened to have signed up with a remarkable teacher. Great teachers provide the fertile soil for growth and development.

What Does Doing Art Mean To Me
A chance to open my mind to a world of color, shapes, textures, and interesting Compositions.  This is a different experience than the world of books and journals.  That previously filled my life.  I find it fun to “dissect” a scene and put it back together in a way that pleases the visual sense.  Doing art also includes looking at what others have created and realizing that we all have different and creative points of view.
